We are currently seeking a skilled Medical Coder to join our team and help ensure the integrity of our medical billing processes.

Position Overview: The Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately assigning codes to medical diagnoses and procedures in accordance with coding guidelines and regulations. This role is essential in ensuring that our billing processes are compliant, efficient, and accurate. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of coding systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and insurance policies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and improve coding accuracy.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in coding and billing processes.
• Assist in the management of audits and prepare for external reviews as needed.
• Stay current with updates in coding practices, regulations, and healthcare policies.
• Support the billing department in minimizing claim denials and maximizing reimbursement.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of coding information and updates.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in health information technology or related field is preferred.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent coding certification is required.
• Previous experience in medical coding, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
